1. Start Microsoft Outlook and check for all the updates for windows vista. Install all outlook updates and proceed for the next step. Make sure that no updates are pending.

2. Go to your Gmail settings and Enable IMAP in forwarding and POP. The iPhone 3G supports synchronization with both POP and IMAP.

3. On your iPhone 3G – Go to outlook settings and make sure that all mail, contacts and accounts are erased.  If you skip this step, you might see an error like  “Your contacts are now being pushed to iPhone over air from Microsoft Exchange”. To avoid this, you will need to satisfy step 3.

6. Just below the contacts section, you will find Calenders and Email sections. Check the required fields if they are unchecked.

7. Click on the APPLY tab once all the required fields are filled up. The changed are now implemented. The iPhone 3G will start to synchronize all mail, contacts and calender itself once the apply button is clicked. In a few seconds, your Ms Outlook data will be on the iphone. You don’t need to restart the iPhone to see the changes.

It is Done. From now on, One can simply synchronize iPhone and Microsoft Outlook – the iPhone will start pulling all updated mails, contacts and calenders on its own.
